Euro Kids

Our little preschool is tucked away in Jalandhar City. If you know the area, you know how busy the streets can get around here. Euro Kids is mostly full of toddlers and younger kids who are just starting to learn how to be away from home for a few hours. The rooms are painted with bright colors, though some of the paint is starting to chip near the floor where the kids kick their shoes off. We have a lot of plastic toys and blocks scattered around most of the time. It’s hard to keep things organized when you have twenty three-year-olds running in different directions. We spend a lot of time just showing them how to share and sit still for a story. The staff here are mostly local ladies who have kids of their own. We talk to the parents at the gate every morning about things like lunch boxes or if a child didn't sleep well the night before. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird humming noise, but it keeps the rooms cool enough during the Jalandhar summers. We have a routine with snacks and nap times that usually goes okay, unless someone decides they aren't tired. It is just a place for children to play and learn some basic things before they go to the bigger schools in the city. Nothing complicated, just a regular day in Jalandhar with a bunch of energetic children and some tired teachers who drink way too much tea.
