Classic Hair & Beauty Salon

Out here in Jalandhar City, we have Classic Hair & Beauty Salon. It’s in Kot Bazar, which is in the Basti Sheikh area. The shop is 144001 for the pincode if you're looking it up. It’s a lively market, so there’s always something going on outside our door. We have a mix of hair and beauty stuff going on. It’s a family business, mostly. We have some chairs for the men and a separate section with a curtain for the ladies. It’s not the biggest place in Jalandhar, but we’ve made it cozy. We have some plants in the window, though they don't get much sun. The heaters are on all day in the winter because it gets so cold here. We drink a lot of chai while we work. People stop in just to say hello even if they don't need a haircut. That’s the kind of neighborhood Basti Sheikh is. We use good scissors and we keep our combs clean. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the sunlight from the door to finish a cut. You just have to laugh and keep going. We don’t have any big corporate rules. We just treat people like they’re our own neighbors, because they are. We’ve been at this address for a long time and we don't plan on going anywhere. It’s just us doing what we know. We’re glad to be here. Basti Sheikh has its own way of doing things and we fit right in.
