Kumbharam Granite

We are located in Village Lakha, which is part of the Fatehgarh Taluka. Our yard is specifically at the Post Lakha. It is a bit of a trek to get out here, but this is where the work is. The landscape is quite dry and the wind blows a lot of sand around the yard. We have our granite stored out in the open. The slabs are heavy and we have to be careful when we move them so they don't crack or chip. We started this because the stone is right here in the ground nearby. It is a family thing, mostly. We have our cousins and brothers helping out with the daily chores. The office is just a small room with a table and a couple of old chairs. We spend most of our time out in the yard anyway. You can hear the sound of the machines from a long way off. It is a tough environment, but we are used to it. The sun is very strong in this Dist, so we wear cloths over our heads while we work to keep cool. We don't do any big advertising. People find us because they need stone for their buildings or their floors. We just show them what we have pulled out of the earth. Every piece of granite has its own look, and we spend time sorting them by color and size. It is just us, the machines, and a lot of heavy rock out in the heat.
