Jagdamba Stone

Jagdamba Stone is out here in Jalore. It is a place known for its granite, so we fit right in. We spend most of our time dealing with the raw blocks and slabs that come through. It's a lot of grey and pink stone mostly, since that's what the ground around here gives up. The air is usually thick with dust from the cutting and polishing. We don't have much of a front office, it's more of a yard where everything happens. People come by asking about prices for their kitchens or big building jobs. We just tell them what we have on the ground that day. Jalore is a tough place to work because it gets so hot, but the granite business keeps everyone going. We aren't doing anything fancy. It's just about getting the stone cut and shipped out to whoever needs it. Some days are slow and we just maintain the machines. Other days, there are trucks lined up waiting to get loaded. We try to keep a decent variety so there's something for everyone, but it depends on the quarry. My hands are usually stained from the work, but that is part of the job. We have been in the granite business for a while now, just staying local and keeping the yard moving. It’s practical work. You see a piece of rock and you see what it can become. That’s about it for us here at Jagdamba Stone. There is always more stone to move.
