Draksh The Bar

We're over at the Suryagarh Hotel on SAM Road. Jaisalmer gets really hot, and it’s a long way out here at Kahala Phata, so having a place like this matters to people who are traveling. Folks come in from the desert or after a long drive just to sit down for a while. We keep the bar stools clean and the bottles ready on the shelf. It isn't a fancy speech we give about ourselves; it's just a spot to grab a drink. Some people are staying right here at the hotel and others are just passing through the Jaisalmer area. The desert is right outside the door, and once the sun goes down, the whole vibe changes. We open up and stay busy until it's time to close up for the night. It’s mostly just keeping things running smoothly. We don't do much talking about our goals or our mission or stuff like that. We just serve what’s on the menu. If you’re driving near SAM Road, you probably saw our sign already. It’s quiet sometimes and loud other times, depending on what kind of crowd comes in. We’ve been here a while now, seeing different faces every single night. The staff mostly knows the regulars who live around here. It’s just a bar in a hotel, and there is nothing more to it really. We focus on getting the glasses out and making sure the lights are right. It’s a job like any other.
