Cafe Plus

Being on Fort Road in Jaisalmer means we are right near the Fort Parking area. If you’ve ever visited the fort, you know how dusty and hot it can get out there. The shop is in a spot where we see a lot of travelers coming back from the fort, looking a bit tired. We also get the locals who are just passing through the 345001 area. The sound of the parking lot is something we’ve gotten used to over time—the bikes, the cars, and the tourist buses are always moving. This cafe is a simple place where we do most of the work ourselves. No big slogans or anything are used; we just open the doors and start the day. Jaisalmer has a very specific feel to it, and the place fits in well with the surrounding streets. It’s a lot of sweeping sand out of the doorway and making sure we have enough cold drinks for everyone. We like the fact that we’re right near such a historic landmark, even if it means things are a bit chaotic sometimes. We’re just a small business trying to do our part and give people a place to sit down for a bit. It’s a pretty basic operation, but a lot of effort goes into making sure it stays running every day for the people who need a break. It is hard work under the desert sun, but it’s our life here and we like it well enough.
