Yummy Cafe is tucked away at LG 7 near the Sodala sewage farm. It might not be the most glamorous-sounding address in the city, but it’s where we set up shop. The space is down on the lower ground level, so it stays a little cooler than the street. We started this place because we wanted a simple spot to serve food without too much fuss. There are only a few tables and the kitchen is right there, so you can hear the pans clanking and the stove hissing while you wait. We don't have a big team of waiters. Usually, it’s just one or two of us doing everything from taking orders to washing the dishes afterward. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the menu is just a printed sheet of paper that’s seen better days. We make things like sandwiches and snacks that aren't too complicated. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients by the end of the day, so we just cross them off the list. It’s a quiet enough place most of the time, away from the main road traffic. We aren't looking to become some famous landmark. We just provide a place for people in the Sodala area to get a quick bite and sit down for a minute. It’s a basic, functional cafe for the neighborhood.
