Chiraniya Mobile & Tea Centre

We have a bit of a unique setup here at Subhash Chowk on Amer Road. At number 10, you’ll find Chiraniya Mobile & Tea Centre. It’s exactly what it sounds like. We fix phones and we serve tea. It started because people would come in for a mobile repair and end up waiting around, so we figured they might want something to drink. Now, the tea is just as popular as the phone side of things. It’s a small shop, and it gets pretty cramped when there are four or five people waiting. The smell of ginger and cardamom is always in the air, mixing with the smell of solder from the workbench. Subhash Chowk is a very busy spot with tourists and locals always moving toward Amer Fort. We see all kinds of people every day. Some just stop for a quick cup of tea while others have a phone with a shattered screen. We don't have fancy tables, just a few stools and the counter. It’s loud because of the traffic on Amer Road, but we like the energy. My brother handles the tea while I look at the electronics. We just give people a spot to get two things done at once. It’s a busy, messy, and friendly place to be. On festival days, the area around Subhash Chowk gets so crowded you can barely move, but we keep the tea boiling and the phone repairs going. It’s a lot of work running two things at once, but Chiraniya Mobile & Tea Centre is our life.
