Vishnu Kripa Collection

Vishnu Kripa Collection is on the first floor of Dhula House, which is located in the busy Bapu Bazar. Being on the first floor means we are a little bit removed from the direct chaos of the street, but the noise still reaches us clearly. Dhula House is an older building with narrow corridors and steep stairs. We have to carry everything up those steps, which is never easy, especially when it is hot outside. Our space is divided into a few rooms that are filled with stacks of our collection. We don't have a lot of space for walking, so we have to be careful not to knock things over. The windows look out over Bapu Bazar, and we can see the colorful stalls and the endless stream of people below. Inside, the walls are painted a simple white that has faded over the years. We use old fans to keep the air moving, though they mostly just push the heat around. Our daily routine involves a lot of lifting, counting, and recording everything by hand. We don't have fancy computer systems for everything; we still rely on our old ledgers. It’s a bit of a climb to get to us, but that’s just how it is at Dhula House. We have been in this spot for quite a while now and have gotten used to the rhythm of the bazar and the quirks of our old building.
