Arpan Arts & Craft

Our shop is located at 2091 Nahargarh Road. It is on the way up towards the old fort, so we see a lot of people passing by every day. We have all kinds of local arts and crafts stuffed into this small space. There are wooden carvings, some hand-painted items, and various things made of stone and clay. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we have so many things on display. My wife and I run the place together. We get a lot of travelers who are walking up the hill and decide to stop in for a look. The road outside can get quite dusty, so we spend a good portion of our morning wiping down the items and cleaning the floor. We have a small wooden bench out front where I like to sit and watch the world go by when there are no customers. We have lived in this part of Jaipur for a very long time and we know almost everyone on the street. We do not have fixed prices for everything and we enjoy a good chat with whoever walks through the door. It is more about sharing the craft than just making a sale. We often stay open late if the evening is cool and there are still people out on the road. It is a busy life but it is what we know and love doing here.
