Bharat Potteries

You can find Bharat Potteries over on Road No.6. It’s a place where we’ve been dealing with ceramics and pottery for quite a while. The first thing you usually notice when you walk in is the fine layer of dust that seems to settle on everything, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just part of working with clay and kilns. The back area is where all the heavy lifting happens, and the front is mostly just a space to keep the finished pieces before they head out. We don't have a big marketing department or any slick brochures. Most of our work comes from people who know where we are and what we make. The building isn't anything special to look at, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain off the equipment. We spend a lot of time checking the temperature of the ovens and making sure the shapes are coming out right. It’s a slow process sometimes, and you can’t really rush it if you want things to turn out okay. We have a few long-term staff members who have been here since the start. We usually just have the radio playing in the background while we work. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the sound of the wheels or the trucks on Road No.6. We don't ask for much, just a good batch of clay and enough orders to keep the wheels turning.
