Vaishnav Kirayana & General Store

Vaishnav Kirayana & General Store is over at the Govindpura Stand on Kalwar Road in Jhotwara. Since we are right by the bus stand, it is a very busy spot. There is always someone waiting for a bus or getting off one. Our shop stays busy because of that. We sell a bit of everything, not just groceries. You can find snacks, cold drinks, and small items people might need in a hurry. The shelves are quite high and sometimes we have to use a stool to reach the top ones. It’s a bit dusty because of all the vehicles passing by on Kalwar Road, but we try to keep the counters clean. We have been at this location for a good many years. We see students, workers, and families all day long. The shop isn't very large, so things are stacked pretty close together. In the summer, we sell a lot of water and soda from the small fridge in the corner. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us taking turns behind the counter. It’s a loud place because of the buses honking at the stand, but you get used to it after a while. We just keep the doors open and serve whoever comes in, day after day. It is a very normal, local kind of business.
