V Narayan General Store

V Narayan General Store is located right in the heart of Chandpole Bazar at number 384. This part of the city has so much history, and we’ve been part of this street for a long time. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with all the things a household needs to keep running. We’ve got pulses, grains, soaps, and those small items you always forget to put on your grocery list until you're already cooking. The wooden shelves are old and maybe a little creaky, but they hold everything together just fine. Every morning starts with dusting the jars and making sure the stock is where it should be. Chandpole is always moving, with rickshaws, cows, and people everywhere, so it gets quite lively outside our door. We see the same faces every week, families who have been buying their monthly rations from us for years. We don't really go for those modern supermarket layouts where you walk around with a cart. Here, you just ask for what you need, and we pull it down from the shelf or scoop it out of the bag for you. It’s more personal that way. Sometimes we run out of things because a delivery truck got stuck in the narrow lanes, but that’s just part of life in the old city. We keep a simple paper ledger for the regulars and have a bit of a talk while weighing out the sugar or flour. It’s an honest business, nothing too complicated. We just focus on keeping the basics in stock and helping out neighbors.
