Tulasi General Store

We are out in Pratap Nagar, which is quite a distance from the main city center. Being on Tonk Road near Sanganer means we get a mix of local residents and people just passing through on their way out of town. The shop is a basic setup, nothing that would catch your eye from a distance. We’ve got the usual stuff on the racks, mostly things people need for their kitchens or bathrooms. It gets very dusty out here because of all the construction and the heavy trucks going towards Sanganer. We spend a lot of time wiping down the jars and packets because the dust settles on everything within an hour. The morning is usually our busiest time when people are getting ready for work and school and realize they forgot to buy milk or tea. By the afternoon, it gets quiet and we just sit on the stool out front, watching the traffic go by. It’s a long day, starting before the sun is fully up, but it is what we do. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who take turns behind the counter. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we first started, with more buildings going up, but our little store stays pretty much the same. It’s just a plain general store for the local folks around here. We don't try to compete with the big malls, we just stay open and wait for our regulars.
