Kagdi Exports

Tripolia Bazar is one of those places that never really sleeps. We are right in the thick of it at No. 268. Kagdi Exports has been a fixture here for a long time. The building is quite old, with thick walls and narrow stairs. It can be a bit of a struggle to get larger items up and down, but we make it work. Outside, the street is a constant flow of shoppers, rickshaws, and cows. It is noisy and colorful, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Inside our shop, things are a bit more quiet, though it is usually cluttered with samples and rolls of materials. We don't have fancy lighting or air conditioning. We just open the windows and let the breeze in, along with the street noise. We spend our days talking to suppliers and checking the quality of the goods we export. It is a very hands-on process. We don't use a lot of fancy software; a lot of our records are still kept in big bound ledgers. We know almost everyone on this block. There is a sense of history here that you don't get in the newer parts of town. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, providing what people ask for and making sure it gets sent out on time. It is a simple, busy life in the heart of the bazar.
