We're at 317 in the Main Market of Barkat Nagar. It’s a tight space, but it fits everything we need. Barkat Nagar is always full of life, especially in the evenings when everyone comes out to shop for groceries or clothes. My shop is just a small slice of that. I’ve got watches lined up in the cabinets, some new and some that look like they've seen better days. I don't have any big slogans or fancy displays. It’s just a counter, some stools, and a lot of watches. People walk in with all sorts of problems. A cracked glass, a broken pin, or maybe they just want to know if a watch is worth saving. I give them a straight answer. I’ve learned that being simple is better. The tools I use are the same ones my father might have used. They work fine. The air in the market can get a bit thick with the smell of street food and the heat, so I keep a small fan running by my chair. It's a long day, starting early and staying until the market winds down. I like seeing the different styles of watches that come through. Some are cheap plastic ones, others are heavy steel. Each one tells me something about the person wearing it. It’s a decent way to spend the time, right here in the heart of the market. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else really.
