The Solitaire Hotel

The Solitaire Hotel is at A-12 in the Bani Park Extension area, near Shastri Nagar. It is tucked away from the really loud parts of the city, which is nice for people who want to actually sleep. The building has been here for a while and it has that typical Jaipur look to it. Inside, the lobby is small but it has enough chairs for everyone to sit down while they wait to get their room keys. We spend a lot of time making sure the linens are clean and the water is running hot in the bathrooms. Sometimes the elevator takes a second to get to the top floor, but it works fine if you are patient with it. The kitchen staff stays busy making breakfast in the mornings, and you can usually smell the parathas from the hallway. We have a few staff members who have been here since the place opened, and they know all the little quirks of the building, like which window doesn't stay open on its own. It’s a regular hotel where we try to keep things running smoothly without a lot of drama. People come here for all sorts of reasons, and we just try to make sure their stay goes okay. We have a little parking area out front that gets pretty tight if everyone has a car, but we usually manage to squeeze them all in. It is just a modest place to stay in a quiet corner.
