Jaipur is hot most of the year. Our office is D 6/1 in the Sanganer Engineers Colony. It is right across from the MLA quarters, so it is easy to tell people where we are. The colony is usually quiet compared to the main city roads. We have a lot of large tables because of the drawings and plans we have to look at. It is an engineering firm, so there are rulers and pens and rolls of paper everywhere you look. It is not the neatest place, but we know where everything is. The fans are always spinning at full speed to keep the dust away. We spend a lot of time talking over things, trying to figure out the best way to build stuff. It is a practical environment. No one wears suits unless they absolutely have to for a meeting. Usually, it is just jeans and shirts. We have been in Sanganer for a while now. The people around here know us. We get our lunch from the local shops and sometimes stay late when a project is due. It is the kind of place where you can just walk in and see people actually working. There is not a receptionist sitting behind a big desk. You just come in and find someone. It is a bit messy, a bit loud when the site trucks go by, but it works for us. We just focus on getting the engineering details right every day.
