Suresh Stores

Suresh Stores has been a part of the Old Market area for as long as most people can remember. We are located in Nayapura on Khai Road, right near the Rseb Office. It is a busy spot, especially in the mornings when everyone is out getting their daily things. The store is filled with all sorts of items from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room for everything, but we manage to squeeze it in. I spend most of my day behind the counter, talking to neighbors and keeping track of what is running low. We don't have fancy barcodes or scanners; we just know the prices by heart. If the power goes out, which happens sometimes around here, we just use candles or a torch and keep going. It’s a very local way of doing things. People come here not just to buy stuff, but to hear the latest news about what’s happening in Nayapura. We have some old wooden shelves that have been here since my uncle ran the place. They creak a bit, but they hold up the weight just fine. Dealing with wholesalers and getting the stock delivered through the narrow roads is always a bit of a challenge. But we like being in this part of town. It feels like home, and even though there are bigger shops elsewhere, people still stop by our little corner on Khai Road for their basics.
