Sunny Mart

If you live near Agarwal Farm or walk by Dwaarka Das Purohit Garden, you have probably seen our shop. Sunny Mart is tucked into the New Atish Market at 118/300. It’s a busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is out for their walks or finishing work. We keep the shelves stocked with the usual things people need for their kitchens and homes. It’s not a huge supermarket, but we try to have the basics so you don’t have to go too far. The morning delivery of milk and bread starts our day quite early. My nephew helps me with the heavy lifting and stacking the bags of flour and sugar. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit mixed up, but we find what people are looking for eventually. The market can get quite dusty, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters. We know most of our regular customers by their names or at least what they usually buy. It's a nice community around here near the garden. Sometimes kids come in for sweets after playing outside. We have a small fridge for cold drinks which is popular when the weather gets hot. It’s just a regular mart, nothing fancy or special about the decor. We just open up in the morning, sell what people need, and close when it gets dark. It’s a steady way to make a living and we like being part of the neighborhood.
