Subham General Store

Our shop is right in the middle of Chandpole Bazar at Bara Bhaiyo Ka Chauraha. Being at number 2029 means we see a lot of the city life every single day. The bazaar is never quiet. From the moment we open the doors, there is noise from the street and people walking past. We sell all kinds of daily items that people need for their homes. It’s a small space, so we have to use every inch of the shelves to fit everything in. Sometimes it feels like a puzzle trying to find a spot for new stock. We have regular customers who stop by every morning for their basics. It’s nice to see the same faces. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just focus on the people standing in front of us. Some days are so busy we don’t even get a chance to sit down for lunch. Other days are slower, especially when the sun is too hot for people to be out shopping. We just sit by the fan and wait for the evening rush. Dealing with different people all day keeps things interesting. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and counting change, but it's what we do. The bazaar has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. We keep the place open until the market starts to quiet down at night.
