Sighal Departmental Store

You can find Sighal Departmental Store on Rajat Path at house number 37 in Mansarovar. It’s a decent-sized shop for this area. We carry a bit of everything, from kitchen staples to cleaning supplies. It started out as a very small counter but we’ve added more shelves over the years. It’s still quite crowded though. We spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates and restocking the shelves. The light in the back of the store is a bit dim, so we have to use a flashlight sometimes to find the smaller packets. We have a lot of regular customers who come every week for their big shopping. We know their preferences, like who wants the specific brand of rice or who only buys the local honey. Sometimes the delivery trucks arrive late and we have to apologize to people for not having what they need. Mansarovar is a big area, but this corner of Rajat Path feels like a small village sometimes. Everyone knows everyone else's business. We keep a chair near the entrance for the elderly folks to sit and rest for a bit. It’s just a regular local shop where we work hard and try to keep things organized. We aren't looking to expand into some giant corporation. We like the way things are right now. The floor is tiled but it’s chipped in a few places from moving heavy crates around. We just live our lives here.
