Shri Ram Industries (Kotah Stone)

Shri Ram Industries is basically just a place where we spend our days dealing with Kotah stone. Ramganjmandi is a busy spot for this kind of thing, and our yard is right in the middle of it. Most of the time, the air is filled with that fine stone dust that gets on everything, including our clothes and the old desk in the office. We spend a lot of hours watching the cutters go through slabs and making sure the sizes are what people asked for. It isn’t fancy work. There’s no big reception area or anything like that, just piles of stone and a few trucks coming in and out all day. My family has been around this area for a long time, so we know the local quarries pretty well. Some days are slow when the machinery acts up, and other days we can barely keep up with the loading. We usually have tea together in the afternoon while the machines are cooling down. It’s just how things go here in Kota. The floor is always covered in grit, and you get used to the noise after a while. We don't really do much advertising because most people just find us by driving through the industrial stretch. It’s a simple setup at Shri Ram Industries, and we just try to get the stone out the gate without too much trouble.
