Shree Karni General Store

I have been running Shree Karni General Store here in Shanti Nagar for a few years now. The shop is in the Hasanpura area of Jaipur and it is quite close to the NBC factory. Because of that, we get a lot of workers stopping by during their shift changes. The Jaipur sun is very strong so I have a blue shade out front to keep the porch cool. Inside the shop, I keep the shelves packed with pulses, oils, and different kinds of spices. The pin code here is 302006. Sometimes the delivery guys struggle to find the exact lane because Shanti Nagar has so many small turns. I usually spend my mornings checking the expiry dates on the milk packets and bread. The counter is made of old wood and I have a small picture of the deity tucked into the corner with some incense. People come in for small things like a packet of salt or some matches. It gets a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at once. I usually have to tell the kids to be careful with the glass jars on the lower shelves. The shop stays open until the street lights come on. It is a simple way to make a living and I like being near the NBC because there is always someone walking by to talk to. We keep things like toothpaste, hair oil, and cheap pens.
