Shree Ji Departmental Store

This store is situated in the Janpath area of Sodala, which is a fairly busy part of Jaipur. We are quite close to the Dana Pani Restaurant, so people often use that as a landmark to find us. Shree Ji Departmental Store is basically a place where you can find most of your daily household requirements. We carry things like spices, oils, and packaged snacks. The streets here in Jaipur can be quite lively, and our shop gets its fair share of that energy. We spend a lot of our morning arranging the new stock that comes in from the distributors. It’s a lot of lifting boxes and checking the dates on the milk and bread. We have been in Sodala for a while now, so we have seen the neighborhood change around us. The shop stays open until late in the evening because that is when most people come back from work. We don't have any polished marketing slogans. We just focus on keeping the bins full of rice and the shelves stocked with toothpaste and soaps. The interior is just simple wooden racks and a counter where we sit. It’s an honest business. Sometimes we run out of things and have to tell customers to come back tomorrow. It is just part of the daily life in a departmental store like ours. We keep things moving and try to stay organized as much as possible.
