Sarvalley Farms Private Limited is tucked away at number 53, right behind the Air Force area in Gurjar Ghati. It’s an interesting spot because you have the Amer Road traffic not too far away, and you can often hear the planes from the base overhead. The hills around Gurjar Ghati give us a bit of a nice view, though the ground itself is quite rocky and hard to work with sometimes. We have been operating from this location for a bit now, focusing on the small-scale farming that happens on the outskirts of Jaipur. It is not like the big industrial farms you see in the movies. We have a small crew and most of us live nearby. Our office is a modest place with just enough room for the essentials. We spend our days checking on the crops and making sure the irrigation is working right because the heat in Rajasthan can be brutal. People often stop by because they are heading towards Amer and see our sign. We are not some big conglomerate with polished reports. We are just people who like being outdoors and growing things. Sometimes the monkeys from the hills come down and cause a bit of trouble with the plants, but we manage. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping an eye on the sky for rain clouds. Every day is different here and that keeps things interesting for us.
