Our place is located at G-515 on VKIA Road Number 9A. If you’ve ever been down this road, you know how hectic it can get with all the industrial traffic. We’ve got bags of rice stacked up almost to the ceiling most days. The air always smells a bit like grain and burlap, which is something you just get used to after a week or two. We deal with farmers and transporters all day long, so there is a lot of shouting and heavy lifting going on from morning until evening. It isn't a quiet office job by any stretch. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of what comes in, making sure it’s dry and clean. There’s no big secret to how we run things; we just show up, load the trucks, and keep the records as best as we can in our old notebooks. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which gives us a chance to sit on the sacks and have some chai. It’s a lot of physical labor, and by the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most people who need rice just know where to find us on Road 9A. It’s a basic business, but it keeps us on our feet and moving. We just focus on keeping the inventory moving and making sure the trucks are on time.
