Brij's Creation

Brij's Creation is over on Shikarpura Road in Sanganer, right opposite the Higher Secondary School. Being in Dada Gurudev Nagar means we are surrounded by a lot of other workshops and people working with textiles. You can usually hear the school bell ringing and kids shouting throughout the day. Our place is where we put together our designs and see them come to life. Sanganer is famous for its printing and we are just one part of that big tradition here. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns and making sure the colors are coming out the way they should. The floors are often stained with different dyes and there is always the smell of fresh fabric in the air. It’s a practical workspace rather than a polished office. We have a few long tables and some machines that keep us busy from morning until evening. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in but we just sweep it out and keep going. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just us working on our creations and trying to make things that look good. People around here know us as the place across from the school. It’s a simple life but we like being part of the local craft scene.
