Sandysimba Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Chak 29 Bb here in Padampur. We set things up at Ram Kumar’s place, he's the son of Lalu Ram. It's just a group of us from around Ganganagar trying to manage the farming work better together. This area has always been about agriculture and we figured having a formal company would help everyone out with the crops and selling part. It’s not a big fancy office or anything. Most days you’ll find us talking about the weather or how the harvest is looking this season. We handle the paperwork and the coordination right here in the village. People know where to find us if they have questions about the seeds or the market prices. Rajasthan can be tough for farming but being in Ganganagar gives us a bit of a start. We just take things day by day. It’s mostly about making sure the farmers in Chak 29 Bb and nearby areas have some support when they need it. There are a lot of challenges with water and logistics but we try to figure it out as we go along. If you are passing through Padampur, you’ll see how the fields look. That’s where we spend most of our time anyway. The company is just a way to keep things organized for all the local families involved. We’re just regular folks working the land.
