Ridhi Sidhi Sarees

You can find Ridhi Sidhi Sarees at 1368 Lal Haveli, which is on Pitaliyon Ka Rasta in Johari Bazar. The building is an old haveli, so it has a lot of character with its thick walls and small windows. It stays relatively cool inside even when it’s boiling hot outside in the market. We have a lot of sarees here, mostly the kind people want for festivals and weddings. The shop is a bit of a maze because we have added more racks over the years as we got more stock to show. Sometimes we trip over a box or two, but that’s just life in a busy shop. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one near the entrance of the lane. Most of our customers come because they’ve heard about us from their neighbors or relatives over the years. We spend a lot of time sitting on the floor mats, unfolding yards of fabric for people to see the work. My brother handles the accounts in a big ledger book, and I talk to the customers who come in. We have a small temple in the corner where we light incense every morning before we start our work. It’s a simple life. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Jaipur. We just want to keep doing what we know, which is selling sarees in this old haveli where our family has been for years. It’s a good place to be.
