Ramesh Tea Company

Ramesh Tea Company is tucked away at A-175, Khazane Walon Ka Rasta, which is right in the Indira Bazar area. If you’ve ever walked down those lanes, you know how narrow and winding they can be. It’s a very old part of town and we have been in this spot for a long time. The shop is filled with the smell of dry tea leaves from morning until night. We don't have any big flashy signs outside. Most of our regulars just know the way through the rasta. It can be a bit hard for newcomers to find us the first time, but once you know the landmark, it’s easy. We spend our days sorting through tea and chatting with the other shopkeepers nearby. There is a lot of history in these walls, even if they look a bit worn out now. We use old wooden chests for some of the storage because that is how it’s always been done here. The light doesn't always reach the back of the shop, so we use a few bright bulbs to see what we are doing. It’s a busy place during the festival seasons when everyone wants tea for their guests. We just keep things simple and honest. No need for anything more than the tea we have and a bit of conversation while we work in Indira Bazar. We usually have a small pot of tea brewing for ourselves and whoever stops by to talk business.
