Rajlaxmi Engineering Works

Our workshop is located in Sanchore, right in the Jalore district. We are across from the Maheshwari Colony, near the main post office. It’s a hot part of the country, so the fans are always running at full speed in the shop. We do a lot of metal work and repairs for the local farmers and the trucks that pass through. There’s always the sound of grinding or welding going on. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and oil, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a messy job, but someone has to do it. We have a few old lathes and some welding machines that have seen better days but still work well enough. People from the colony come by when their gates are broken or if they need a custom bracket made. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just the open front where you can see us working from the road. In the evenings, we sit on the benches outside and watch the traffic go by. Jalore can be a tough place to work because of the dust, but we’re used to it. We keep a pot of cold water by the door for anyone who stops in. It’s just us and our tools, trying to make a living in Sanchore. We don't worry about being perfect as long as the machines are running.
