Rajasthan Mojri

We are up here on the first floor of 1 Bapu Bazar. It's a busy place, especially in the afternoons when the market really gets going. Rajasthan Mojri has been in this spot for a while now. Most days start with sweeping out the dust that comes up from the street. You can hear everything happening downstairs from our windows. It's just a small space filled with boxes and the smell of leather. People find us after climbing the stairs, usually looking for something specific they saw or heard about. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It is mostly just stacks of shoes and a couple of stools for people to sit on while they try things on. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when three or four people come in at once. My tea guy brings a tray up around eleven every morning, and that is usually the highlight of the quiet hours. Bapu Bazar is one of those places where everyone knows everyone else. If the neighbors need change or a bit of help moving something, we're right there. We don't do much online or anything, we just stay here and open the doors every morning. It’s a simple way to spend the day, really. The stairs can be a bit steep if you aren't used to them, but once you're inside, it’s a bit calmer than the main road. That’s just how it is for us here at the shop.
