Rajasthan Art 'N' Craft

If you are ever heading down Amer Road toward the forts, you’ve probably passed right by us. We are Rajasthan Art 'N' Craft, located right by Saraogi Motors and just a short walk from the Hotel Holiday Inn. It’s a very busy part of town with all the tourists and the local traffic, so there’s always something to look at out the front window. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of things—wooden carvings, colorful fabrics, and small trinkets. It isn't the most organized place in the world, and you might have to dodge a few crates to get to the back, but that’s part of the charm. We’ve been here for years, and we know most of the other shopkeepers on this stretch of Amer Road. We don't do much in the way of fancy marketing. We just put our things out where people can see them and wait for someone to take an interest. Most of our day is spent dusting the shelves or talking to the craftsmen who bring us their work from the villages. It’s a simple business, really. We like the pieces we sell, and we like the people who make them. Sometimes the shop gets a bit hot in the summer, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving. It’s a good spot to be, and we’re happy to stay right where we are.
