Our workshop is out in Sikar, in the RIICO Industrial Area of Ajeetgarh. The address is E-150A. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here to Srimadhopur, but this is where the metalwork happens. Radha Krishna Metalcraft is what we call ourselves. The air is always a bit dusty and you can hear the sound of tools and machinery running throughout the day. We aren't some polished showroom. We’re a working factory floor. Most of us have been working with metal for years. We do a lot of the heavy lifting ourselves. It’s not an easy job, especially when the Rajasthan sun is beating down on the industrial sheds. We take our breaks under whatever shade we can find. The canteen nearby is where we usually get our lunch. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches. We just look at the orders and get to work. Srimadhopur is a quiet place otherwise. Being in the RIICO area means we are surrounded by other people doing similar things. We share tools sometimes or help a neighbor if their truck gets stuck. It’s a very practical environment. We use simple tools and traditional methods mostly. Nothing too high-tech. Just good old-fashioned metalwork. We keep it straightforward. If you come to see us, don't expect a lobby. Just expect to see people working hard.
