If you come to Chandpole Bazar and look for Mishra Ji Ka Rasta, you will find us there. R S Bajaj Tea Co is on the first floor of Agarwal Market, at number 1013. Being on the first floor means it’s a bit quieter than the street level, but you can still hear all the horns and shouting from the bazar below. We deal in tea, mostly in bulk. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the smell of dry tea leaves. It’s a strong, earthy scent that stays in your clothes long after you leave. We have big sacks stacked up against the walls. We spend a lot of time tasting different batches to see how they turned out. It’s not fancy tasting like you see on TV; we just use plain cups and a kettle. We supply to small shops and some families who have been buying from us for many years. My grandfather was into this, and we just kept the tradition going at the same spot. The stairs up to the market can be a bit steep, especially when we are carrying samples. We don't have a big sign or anything. Most people know us by word of mouth. The market is old, and the building has its quirks, like the way the light hits the floor in the afternoon. We just sit here, record the sales in our books, and make sure the tea stays dry.
