R K Departmental Stores

If you go down Sikar Road in Harmada, you will find us in the Meena Market area. We are right at Shop No 1 on Plot No 1731, which is directly opposite the Jodla Power House. It’s a busy spot because of the market and the main road nearby. Being a departmental store, we have a bit more variety than the smaller shops. We carry buckets, kitchen items, and all the usual groceries. The place gets quite a lot of dust because of all the vehicles passing by the Power House, so cleaning the shelves is a never-ending task. I usually start the day by checking what we sold yesterday and what needs to be ordered from the wholesalers. People from the nearby colonies come here for their monthly supplies. We have everything arranged in rows, but it can get a bit cluttered when a big delivery arrives. It’s just a standard way of working, keeping things moving and helping people find what they are looking for. Sometimes the power goes out, which is ironic since we are right across from the Power House, but we just keep the doors open and manage. It’s a local business, nothing too fancy, just a place where you can get your household stuff without having to go all the way into the main city. I've spent many years behind this counter, watching the Meena Market grow and change as more people move into this part of Jaipur. It is a lot of hard work.
