Pushpa Saree Center

The shop is called Pushpa Saree Center and you can find us at number 8 near the Hanumaan Mandir. We are in Purvas Ji Ka Kalta, which is tucked inside Johari Bazar. If you know the temple, you know where we are. It’s always busy around here because of the devotees and the shoppers. I spend a lot of time just moving piles of sarees around to find the right color someone wants. Johari Bazar is a maze and it gets really hot in the middle of the day. We have a couple of old fans that keep the air moving a little bit. I’ve lived around this area most of my life so I know all the other shopkeepers nearby. We share news and sometimes have a glass of water together when the market is quiet. The sarees we have come from different places, some simple and some with more work on them. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting the heavy boxes and making sure nothing gets dusty. People come in after they finish their prayers at the mandir. It’s a small space, so if three or four people come in at once, it feels very full. I don’t mind it though. I like the noise of the bazar and the way the day goes by so fast when you’re busy. We just keep things basic and honest here. It’s just a regular local business doing its thing.
