Puran Kirana Store

If you are driving on Sirsi Road, you will find Puran Kirana Store right outside the HP Petrol Pump in the Bindayaka area. It is a good spot because people often realize they need something for their house while they are filling up their tanks. We have a lot of different things on the shelves, mostly groceries like tea, spices, and cleaning supplies. The area around Bindayaka is growing fast and there are many new buildings coming up, but our shop still feels like the old days. We have big glass jars on the front counter filled with different sweets and biscuits. The light from the petrol pump helps keep the front of our shop bright even after it gets dark. It is usually just me and a young boy who helps me carry the heavy bags of grain for the customers. The Sirsi Road traffic never really stops, so there is always a background hum of engines. We keep a simple ledger to track our sales and we don't use any of those new digital systems. Sometimes the rain leaks a little bit near the front door, so we have to be careful about where we put the flour sacks. It is a simple life of counting change and chatting with the drivers who stop by. We are here every day except for some festival days. We just want to keep the shop running and serve the people who live nearby.
