Pratham Traders

Pratham Traders is on the second floor at 139 Bapu Bazar. You have to walk up the stairs, which can be a bit of a climb when the weather is hot. Being on the second floor gives us a bit of a view of the market below, but mostly we are looking at our own shelves. We trade in all sorts of things, so the inventory is always changing. One week we might have stacks of one thing, and the next week it is something else entirely. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing things down in our ledgers. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving in the small space. Bapu Bazar is a crowded place, and you can hear the shouting of the vendors downstairs all day. We have our regulars who know to come up the stairs to find us. It isn't a place for tourists or people just looking around. We deal with other traders and shopkeepers who need supplies. We keep our coffee and tea things in the corner, and that is where most of our meetings happen. There are boxes everywhere, and sometimes it's hard to find a place to sit. We just keep track of what comes in and what goes out. It’s a busy, cramped, and perfectly normal way to spend the day. We stay until the market starts to quiet down in the late evening.
