Pankaj General Store

If you’re driving down Ajmer Road, you’ve probably seen Pankaj General Store. We’ve been here for years, right on the main stretch. It’s a small shop, but we try to keep it packed with everything people might need. From soap to snacks to basic household things, it’s all squeezed onto the shelves. Sometimes it’s a bit hard to find what you want, but I usually know exactly where I put it. It gets really busy in the mornings when people are heading to work and in the evenings when they’re coming home. The doorbell rings constantly. I’ve spent most of my life behind this counter. It’s not a big supermarket with bright lights; it’s just a local store where we know many of the customers by name. We chat about the weather or the traffic while I bag up their things. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, and the floor tile near the door is cracked, but it’s our place. We don't have a website or any of that. If you need something, you just stop by and look around. Sometimes we run out of milk early, and people have to wait for the next delivery. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s honest work. We’ve seen the road change a lot over the years, but we’re still here doing the same thing every single day for the neighborhood.
