Pandit Alok Jagawat

My name is Alok Jagawat and I’m based out of Malviya Nagar, at 4 298. I’ve lived and worked in this area for a long time. It’s a familiar place to me. My setup is pretty basic. I have a small room where I do my work and talk to anyone who stops by. It’s not a polished business with a logo on the door. It’s just me. People come to me with all sorts of questions and I do my best to give them an honest answer. Sometimes I’m not sure myself, so we look at things together. I don't use a lot of technology. I prefer pen and paper and talking face to face. It feels more real that way. Malviya Nagar can be busy, but my little corner stays fairly calm. I don't have a mission statement or any of that stuff. I just wake up, have my tea, and see who needs help today. Some days are long and my eyes get tired from reading, but it’s good work. I’ve helped a lot of neighbors over the years and they seem to appreciate it. I’m not interested in being a big name. I just want to keep doing what I’m doing at 298. It’s a small life but it’s mine. If you need me, you know where I am. I usually keep the window open to let the breeze in, even if the street noise is a bit much.
