You can find P M Departmental Store at Subhash Chowk 22, near the Jaipur G P O. Subhash Chowk is a very old and crowded part of the city, and our shop reflects that. It is a narrow space packed with all sorts of household goods. We have everything from cleaning supplies to biscuits and grains. The building itself has seen better days, and the ceiling is a bit low, but it stays cool in the summer. I have been working here since I was a teenager, and not much has changed over the years. We still use the same old wooden counter. The street outside is always full of motorcycles and rickshaws, so it is quite noisy. We get a lot of foot traffic from people walking through the market. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use candles or a small battery light to see the labels on the jars. It's not a perfect setup, but it works for us and our customers. We don't do any special promotions or fancy displays. We just put the items on the shelf and people buy what they need. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming here for decades. They know where everything is, sometimes better than I do. It’s a tiring job standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we do to keep things going.
