Om Hari Departmental Store

Om Hari Departmental Store is at Pratap Nagar 62. It is a small corner of the world, but it is ours. We have been running this place for a few years now, and it has become a staple for the people living nearby. We sell all the basic groceries you might need for your home. Things like flour, oil, spices, and snacks. The shop is small, so we have to be clever with how we stack the bags. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in when we get a big shipment of supplies. My wife helps me out in the evenings when it gets really busy with people coming home from their jobs. We don't have a big team or anything, just us and occasionally a neighbor's boy who helps carry heavy sacks of rice to people's cars. The floor is concrete and it gets a bit dusty, but we try to sweep it twice a day. We aren't trying to compete with those big supermarkets in the malls. We just provide a place where you can get your salt or sugar without any fuss. It's a lot of repetitive work, scanning the shelves and making lists of what we are running low on. But there is a certain comfort in the routine. We know who likes which brand of tea and who is looking for a discount on bulk orders. It’s just a normal neighborhood shop.
