O. B. Overseas

If you go to Bapu Bazar and look for the Aggarwal Chamber at Dhula House, that’s where you’ll find O. B. Overseas. Being in Bapu Bazar means it’s always crowded and there’s always something going on outside our windows. It’s a lively place to work, even if it’s a bit noisy with all the shoppers and rickshaws. We’ve been in this office for a long time. It has high ceilings and old wooden desks that have seen better days. We handle exports, which involves a lot of back-and-forth with vendors across the city. Most of our morning is spent sorting through samples and checking the quality of things before they go into the crates. We don't use fancy software; a lot of our notes are still on paper pads spread across the desks. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. My uncle started this, and now I handle most of the daily operations. We aren't trying to change the world or anything, just trying to make a living and keep our customers happy with what we send them. The stairs in Aggarwal Chamber are a bit steep, so we get a good workout every day. Sometimes we grab a snack from the street vendors downstairs when we’re too busy for a real lunch. It’s a busy life in a busy market, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We just keep moving forward one box at a time and try to stay organized.
