Our small business, Notably Spices India Private Limited, is tucked away in the Kudi Bhagtasani Housing Board area of Jodhpur. Specifically, we are at 7 A 25 in Sector-7. It’s a quiet residential neighborhood, which is nice because it stays away from the heavy traffic of the main city. We spend our days dealing with all sorts of Indian spices. You can usually smell the cumin or the chili from the front door when we are busy packing. It’s not a massive operation with high-tech robots. It’s just us, some weighing scales, and a lot of bags. We spend a lot of time cleaning the raw spices and making sure they are dry before they go into the packets. The Jodhpur heat helps with that, though the humidity in the monsoon can be a real headache. Our office is just a small room with a few chairs where we talk to the guys who bring us the raw goods. We don't have a big marketing team or a polished website. Most people find out about us because they know someone who bought our spices before. It’s a simple life of filling orders and checking the quality of the black pepper or the turmeric. We just focus on the daily grind and making sure the boxes get out to the customers on time. It’s a bit cramped sometimes with all the inventory, but we make it work.
