New Santosh Engineering Works

Our shop is right at 127 Indira Bazar, near that famous Tikki Walon Ka Chauraha. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets, especially near Mishra Rajaji Ka Rasta. It’s a loud place with all the traffic and the noise from our machines. We do a lot of engineering work here, mostly repairs and making small metal parts that people need. There’s always iron scrap laying around and the floor is usually covered in oil and metal shavings. We have been in this spot for years, and we know almost everyone who passes by. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful where we step. My hands are usually stained with grease by the end of the day, but that’s how it goes in this line of work. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just our lathes and welding equipment. People bring in broken parts from their machines or bikes, and we see what we can do to fix them up. It’s a practical business. We drink a lot of tea to stay going during the long afternoons when the heat is trapped in the bazaar. It’s a bit chaotic with the narrow lanes, but we like being in the heart of the city where everything is happening. We just take each job as it comes and try to get it done properly.
