Our business is out in the Mandore Industrial Area on Plot F-126. If you’ve ever been to Jodhpur, you know the industrial zones can get pretty dusty and loud. We deal with pipes, so there is always the sound of metal or plastic being moved around. It’s a large plot because pipes take up a lot of room. We have stacks of them organized by size and material. The sun really beats down on the corrugated roof in the afternoons. Most of the staff here are from nearby villages and they know the work well. We don’t spend much time in the office; we are usually out on the floor checking the stock or watching the loading. It’s honest work and it keeps us moving. The roads in Mandore are rough sometimes, especially after it rains, but the trucks still manage to get through. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company in the world, just trying to supply what people need for their projects. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing it. That’s just part of running a pipe business. We have a small guard dog that hangs out by the gate. He doesn’t do much but sleep and bark at the crows. We like it here despite the heat and the noise. It’s where the work gets done every single day.
