Natani General Stores

Natani General Stores is our family shop at 453 Chandpole Bazar. We have been sitting behind this wooden counter for a long time now. The shop is filled from floor to ceiling with all sorts of things like grains, spices, soaps, and snacks. It’s a very old building in a very old part of the city. Chandpole is always full of people, and the noise from the street never really stops. We know just about everyone who lives in the surrounding lanes. They come in for their daily milk or a kilo of sugar. We don't have any fancy computers, just a calculator and some notebooks to keep track of everything. The shelves are a bit dusty and the floor is worn down, but it’s a comfortable place for us. We open up early and stay until late at night when the market finally starts to get quiet. Sometimes the shop feels too small when we get a big delivery of sacks that need to be put away. We don't spend money on advertising or anything like that. People know where we are because we’ve always been here. It’s a simple way of living, just selling the things that people need for their homes. We talk to our neighbors all day and hear all the news from the bazar. It’s just a normal neighborhood store where we try to keep things in stock.
