Naresh Ganeral Store

Naresh Ganeral Store is situated at T H Kotputli in the Main Market of Paota. It’s a small shop, but we pack it full of whatever the local people might need for their daily lives. You’ll find bags of flour, jars of spices, and all the small household items that people run out of. We spend most of our time behind the old wooden counter, weighing things out and chatting with the neighbors. Paota is the kind of place where everyone knows each other, so the shop feels more like a meeting point than just a business. The floor is made of old cement and it’s seen a lot of foot traffic over the years. We don’t have fancy lighting, just a couple of bright bulbs that we switch on when it gets dark. Most of the stock comes in on trucks early in the morning, and we have to heave the sacks inside before the sun gets too high. It’s a lot of physical work, and our backs often ache by the time we close up. We don't use any high-tech systems to track what we sell. A simple notebook and a pen do the job just fine for us. Sometimes the shop gets a bit dusty because of the market road outside, but we try to keep it as clean as we can. It’s just a normal store for normal people.
